BIO
Rafa Ramos Sania, born in Valencia in 1976, is a versatile musician, performer, and composer who works both on solo projects and in collaboration with various musical ensembles and visual artists.
His experience as a performer is rooted in a self-taught background and a multi-instrumental approach, with a focus on the double bass since 2003.
In addition to his extensive experience in recording and digital editing, he has studied harmony and composition, allowing him to broaden and deepen his knowledge across a wide range of musical genres and styles. From his early work in rock and electronic music, he has gone on to explore classical and early music, and has taken part in Mediterranean music workshops with musicians from different countries. He later expanded his training into jazz and the study of modern harmony.
As a jazz double bassist, he has performed with Naima at several European festivals, including Petro Jazz in St. Petersburg, Vilnius Mama Jazz, and the València Jazz Festival. He has also played in numerous venues and jazz clubs across Spain, such as Jamboree and Jimmy Glass, among others. His experience also includes participation in a variety of experimental music events, such as Ensems, the Volumens Festival of Art, Science, and Technology, and the La Mostra Viva del Mediterrani, a gathering of Mediterranean music.
He is currently continuing his career as a double bassist while also composing, recording, and editing music without confining himself to a single genre. This open approach is reflected both in his personal projects and in his collaborations on soundtracks for audiovisual works and performing arts productions.
