New Album: Blue Barren

Blue Barren

A town built on ice.
An icebreaker cuts through it, splitting the town in two.
On one side, a town captivated by the icebreaker.
On the other, a town disoriented and grieving.
Curiosity, euphoria, the yearning thrill of illusion.
Disorientation, loss, introspection.
Community, solitude, a whispered scream.
Blinding white.
Deep and serene blue.

Blue Barren is an instrumental album that explores fracture, change, and the emotional duality that arises when a seemingly stable reality is interrupted by a transformative force. Like a town built on ice, split by an icebreaker, the music moves between fascination with the new and mourning for the lost.

This text accompanies the album as a literary echo: a landscape of words that symbolically reflects the tension between community and isolation, euphoria and introspection, beauty and emptiness.

Blue Barren was performed using piano, strings, objects, electronics, and field recordings.

Composed, recorded, and mixed by Rafa Ramos Sania between December 2024 and March 2025 in Valencia, Spain.
